Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters, also known as Lazzara, was born February 28 the 28th of February, 1948. She is an American performer, actress, and children's book author. Through a long career that spans more than six decades, she's starred in musical theatre, television and film, and performed in concert performances as a solo artist and released recordings. She is a highly acclaimed Broadway performer. She has been awarded seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award) along with nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Four of the Broadway cast albums on which she has performed have been awarded Grammy Awards.
Many believe Peters to be the most effective Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is particularly well-known for her performances on Broadway like Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
